Queens College Advisor Dr. Weinstein earned her PhD in Irish History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has worked as a historical consultant for a number of organizations, and she has taught a wide range of students at organizations including the Irish-American Heritage Center, the Newberry Library, UW-Madison, and most recently at Horace Mann School in the Bronx.

She brings with her strong advising experience from her work at the University of Wisconsin and from her time as a high school teacher. She has experience working on graduate school and fellowship applications; she has also taught first-year seminars and has extensive experience helping students transition from high school to college life and from college to graduate school or professional careers. She has also lived in Belfast and traveled widely—though not as much as she would like—and she is a strong supporter of studying abroad.

Dr. Weinstein is thrilled to join the team at Macaulay, and to share her knowledge and experience with students and to learn from them, too. Outside of work she is passionate about animal welfare, baking new kinds of bread, knitting, and tennis. Fun fact: Dr. Weinstein once worked as a recording engineer for punk bands.
